Huge update of the servers!

This summer , officials servers (Metin2 UK, Metin2 SG) got the new update by ymir.
New maps for level 90 came, with that maps the players will be able to drop upgrade materials for new weapons and new armors,new bracelets, new necklace new shoes...also level cap of 99 is exchanged and now servers are 105lvl.

Z8Games Metin2 US Ends... DONT PANIC!

Announced recently on both Gameforge and G4BOX official forums, G4BOX will no longer operate their metin2 us server.

All is not lost for players however,  as Gameforge is stepping up and providing a new home for them. A tool will be provided that any player who wishes to transfer to Gameforge's US server must use, if they want to survive the end of G4BOX's server. Yes, from the sounds of it, the transfers are manual.

Certain item shop features for G4BOX's Metin2 server have already been disabled, and the server itself will stop operation on April 2nd. I guess ending on April 1st would just be too cruel. An earlier version of G4BOX/Z8Games' closure announcement said that both the Free Kingdom and New World Metin2 US servers would merge onto Gameforge's Metin2 US server, however this has now been retracted. As Gameforge's US offering only has one server though, this still seems like the logical conclusion.

Disparities between the servers such as differing item names will be taken over by Gameforge data. Stats and items that are unique to G4BOX's offering like vs and resist (class) stats on items, +5 spirit stones and the like are still under discussion. Refugee players will of course be able to access the new content pack.
More info is expected as the closure and moving dates draw nearer. Z8Games/G4BOX and Gameforge both have threads on their respective boards that should receive further info as the days go on - be sure to check the source links

Metin2 SG added vitality system, hairstyle updates...

Playing catchup recently, Metin2 SG's staff have now introduced the Vitality system for their players to take advantage of. Working like on other servers, players can talk to a new Alchemist NPC in each town to smelt unwanted items (level 40 and above) for a chance at getting Vitality Ores. 30 of these ores can be crafted into a Vitality Stone. Vitality stones have varying power levels, the maximum being 10, and when used will fill a new energy bar located in the bottom left corner of the client. The stats on a player's items will be boosted by up to 10%, depending on the power level. Not much of a change if 10% chance to critical attack becomes 11%, though a little more noticeable when +2000 HP becomes +2200.

 

Metin2 SG players will now also find the new costume button and extra costume inventory window available to them; the new home for costumes and hairstyles. This update also now lets players equip and unequip hairstyles as they please.

Metin2 SG is too late for the London 2012 Olympics and the accompanying Olympic updates that other servers had, though the olympic costumes are being recycled as generic costumes. At least, the football and boxing costumes - the fencing costumes haven't seen any mention. SG players cannot choose which costume they are buying either; instead players may purchase either a football or boxing costume box, which will randomly contain one of the many costumes of each type.

Metin2 SG's olympic costumes do feature stat bonuses however, with football costumes granting a 10% movement speed boost and boxing costumes giving 10% extra attack speed. If an "Olympic" costume is found in the box (in actuality, a UK style costume), the bonus is instead 20% movement speed or 15% attack speed for football and boxing respectively.

The Olympic hairstyles are also coming to the server, lasting 30 days and providing +750 HP. The staff are recognizing that they missed the appropriate time with these updates, and as such there will be a 20% discount on the new items for the next week.

Spider dungeon 3 this halloween on Metin2 UK

Though known under embargo for much longer, Spider Dungeon 3 only began to be publicly teased around the middle of this year, eventually showing up among a bunch of updates that hit Metin2 Korea. After then things went quiet again, though now it's been revealed that the new dungeon will arrive on Gameforge servers this Halloween. Not much more info is given - apart from good drops when the spider is slain.

The new spider boss bears a quite close resemblance to the Queen Spider boss that can be found in the first Spider Dungeon:

 

Expect more info as Halloween comes closer and begins.
