GAMEFORGE Succeed with server merging

Gameforge first revealed its intention of merging servers back in June, and quickly made good on their efforts by creating a test merged server for players to try outthe month after. These tests proved a success, and recently Gameforge has gone through with the process on their first live server: Metin2 GRMetin2 GR. The Greek servers were merged into a single realm, now named Orion.

Extra room for guild land is also introduced, here you can have a peek:

Player reactions to the merge are largely positive. A few English translations have been shared:

Quote
"Finally a lot of PvP. The game got interesting again after a long time. The new server is awesome!"

"Congratulations to the CoMa for a job well done and the whole Metin team that stayed here since the morning! Today, I had informed them about some small problems, and as I see, they are already being fixed."

"CoMa and admins have done a great job. Really well done with the server merge!"

"Congrats to our CoMa and everyone working on the server merge in Greece! Thanks to G(finder) for keeping all players informed about everything that happened during the merge. Most of the other players probably feel the same way."

"Thank you for keeping us informed and updated with all the info during and after the merge!"

Now it remains to be seen when merging will occur for other Metin2 servers. Metin2 UKMetin2 UK is a likely second candidate. Some of the much larger localizations like Metin2 DEMetin2 DEor Metin2 TRMetin2 TR may also be the next targets. Presumably the merging technique also works for merging more than just two servers together.
